The Millipore/Amnis™ Flowsight® Imaging Flow Cytometer has the ability to produce up to
twelve images of each and every cell. The image collection system simultaneously produces
darkfield (side scatter), brightfield, and up to ten fluorescence images. The instrument operates
at ~20x magnification allowing visualization of fluorescence from the membrane, cytoplasm or
nucleus. Identifying cell conjugates or distinguishing single cells from doublets and debris is
practically effortless. Flow cytometry has never been so easy.
The Flowsight® operates like a conventional cytometer but provides imagery of every cell—
simply click on a dot in any plot to see the corresponding cell imagery— or click on a bin in any
histogram to view all cells in that bin. Draw gates on dot plots to view the resulting populations to
The system comes with two computers. The first is a Dell T7500 Workstation Server that runs Linux
OS to provide an interface between the MkII/FS instrument and the INSPIRE computer; a Dell Optiplex
990. The Optiplex runs Window 7 for analysis and imaging. Provided is the software for a third computer which will run Amnis’s IDEAS software for networking and data storage— we recommend that computer also be a Dell 7500 or similiar server because of the amount of data to be saved. We have been working with Millipore in Seattle to bring these computers and the instrument up to date and ready for our customer, which included sending the harddrive of the Optiplex to them in Seattle for cloning of the INSPIRE software. We will continue to work with Millipore to assure proper configuration of this system
and we would suggest our customer continue to work with them for setup, licensing software, consumables, and installation procedures.
We bought this instrument from a university in Canada where it was in use right up until the week we
purchased it. It has been well maintained and is in very good condition. It shouldn’t need any major work to get it operational, and Millipore is very helpful and knowledgable about these machines, and can provide any consumables or technical help you might need.
The Flowsight® is state of the art in Cytometry and much more. We are proud to have this instrument to offer and have spared no expense in making sure it is ready for your lab. We will ship this in custom-
built crating (included in the price) we build ourselves here at our shop in Sonora, California. We build the crates from 3/4″ ply-wood with 2″foam rubber lining and bubblewrap. We like to make sure our instruments make it to our customers undamaged from shipping. We insure all shipments for their full value and we ship worldwide.
