At Certified Scientific Instruments Inc. we take great pride in our shipping and crating department to ensure your product arrives safely in a crate that is custom made to your specific order, and that it can be re-used for moving or storage.
The entire process takes place in-house, beginning the moment your order is placed with our sales department. Once placed, the order is forwarded to our shipping department where your product is pulled from inventory and double-checked for blemishes and defects. After the instrument is determined to be up to our standards, the crating process begins.
We use some of the best tools and materials in the industry. First, we take measurements of the overall size of your order. Once we have all the dimensions, we add 4.5 inches to height, length and width to allow space for bubble wrap and 2 inches of foam around the entire instrument. After the sizes are taken, we pull 4ft by 8ft sheets of ply wood to our SageTech panel saw to cut a base, four sides, and a top. Each crate is made up of 7 ply Birch cabinet grade wood. For small light crates, we add handles for easy movement of the package. Crates larger in size have Skid-Mate bubble feet spaced to support the weight, and extra-large instruments get bubble feet plus an internal floating-base to absorb any impact during its journey to you. Once your package is all buttoned up, we add Fragile stickers to each side and top, and ULINE Tip n Tell stickers* which will allow you to know whether or not your package was mistreated. Then, we send it on its way to you.
Every customers satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us, which is why no expense is spared in each carefully constructed crate. If you have any questions or concerns, please visit the Contact US page, and we will gladly address any issues you have.
*Note: When your package arrives and if the Tip n Tell indicator shows it has been activated, we recommend you document this with photos prior to opening so any damage can be reported to shipping company.
